Mentored Sailing Program - Membership Dates and Fees

When you join the Mentored Sailing Program, you become a BS&BC Intermediate Club Member.  As a member of the BS&BC sailing community, you enjoy the facilities and social gatherings offered by BS&BC throughout the year such as regattas, cruising and racing seminars, the Commodore’s Dinner, and “Sail past”.  Members are entitled to all Intermediate Membership amenities.

Come out, make new friends, and introduce your family to the lifelong sport of sailing!

Program Dates

The program runs from mid April to mid October with the on-water portion spanning 16 weeks from Sunday, May 29 to Sunday, September 11, 2022.

Mentored Sailing Program Membership: $370.00 plus HST

The Mentored Sailing Program encourages the joy sailing and development of sailing skills without having to own a keelboat. You will learn how to sail out in the bay and learn about boat maintenance and ownership all while taking part in the BSBC sailing community.

Already a senior member of BS&BC and looking to improve your seamanship? You too can join the Mentored Sailing Program and get instruction on your boat.

Join as Intermediate member and use BS&BC yacht club sailboats. A BS&BC expert skipper will mentor your group on our club sailboats and introduce you to all facets of sailing and boat maintenance.  Your lessons will be held once a week for 3 hours at the agreed time for 16 weeks.

  • All members complete 10 volunteer hours (five hours within the program)
  • Attendance at the Stepping and Un-Stepping of mast is required.
  • Join the yacht club and use your own sailboat. A BSBC expert skipper will come aboard your boat and will mentor you on all facets of sailing and boat maintenance.  

Your lessons will be held once a week for 3 hours at the agreed time for 16 weeks.

MSP (family member): $220.00 plus HST

BS&BC believes sailing is a family sport and encourages members to bring a first mate along. With the purchase of a MSP membership, your ‘family member’ may join for a discounted fee. Participant must live at the same address.

  • Family member complete 10 volunteer hours (5 hours within the program).
  • Attendance at the Stepping and Un-Stepping of mast is required.

Membership periods are based on the BS&BC October to September fiscal year.
