Hook Regatta
Ahoy all BSBC members, Mentees and Mentors
The Mentored Sailing Program is in full swing for 2024 and the mentees are getting out on our two club boats with their dutiful mentors.
So now it's time for some socializing and some 'light hearted' racing in the MSP's annual Hook Regatta (think Captain Hook).
In this fun regatta, BS&BC boat owners bring aboard the mentees from Mentored Sailing Program as part of their crew to join in a 'pursuit race' around the bay. All levels of skill are required and welcome so be ye a regular racer or be ye a cruiser (note the pirate language) we want you and your crew out on the water on July 13
It's a day of good fun that starts at 9 am with Captains and Crew meeting and then heading out for the race. After the race we all meet at the club BBQ docks for a feed and awards. The fee is $15 per person and includes the BBQ and raises some money for the MSP.
Those members with sailing ships please confirm if you are joining in and the number of crew you can take. If you know your PHRF please send that too.
MSP Mentees or members without vessels that want to get some race crew experience please confirm how many you are and we will match you up with a friendly member captain and boat.
Volunteers are needed for the BBQ and regatta set up so please let us know if you are interested (tasks included shoppers, prep, setup, BBQ, tickets, clean up)
Dress the part of a pirate and bring your water guns! Prize to the boat with best team spirit and most captivating buccaneer attire
