Health & Safety Rules During COVID-19

Notice to BS&BC Members and their guests

BS&BC requires that all members and their guests comply with regulations outlined in Step 3 of the Government of Ontario's roadmap, and comply with the public health measures, advice and restrictions as outlined under https://www.ontario.ca/laws/regulation/200364  and https://www.ontario.ca/laws/regulation/r21520

  1. Anyone suffering from any COVID-19, cold / flu like symptoms will stay away from the club grounds until their symptoms have subsided. Self-assessment is encouraged by visiting https://covid-19.ontario.ca/self-assessment/  .  
  2. Anyone returning from international travel will have complied with the Government of Canada's regulations outlined in "For travelers without symptoms of COVID-19 returning to Canada by air" (https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/publications/diseases-conditions/2019-novel-coronavirus-information-sheet.html ) prior to being permitted on BS&BC facilities and will comply with all health & safety recommendations in place by all levels of government;
  3. Anyone who has been required to self-isolate, or quarantine as required by law, should not access BS&BC facilities until such quarantine period has elapsed.
  4. Unless expressly permitted by the BS&BC Board of Directors, the clubhouse is closed to members, their guests and visitors, except for the washroom facilities.  Please limit washroom use to one person at a time and assist in maintaining their cleanliness;
  5. To the maximum extent possible, everyone will maintain a distance of 6ft / 2m from anyone who is not in their immediate household;
  6. Face covering shall be worn when distance is temporarily not possible outdoor and in all indoor facilities, including washrooms;
  7. On all docks, persons stopped for any reason on the main walkways is asked to move onto a finger dock to permit safe passing of others;
  8. BBQ facilities operated by the Club and Community Marina are not currently available, however the floating BBQ dock is available as a gathering space.  Please be considerate of others, obey any posted policies and maintain safe distancing.
  9. Members, their guests, and visitors will inform a member of the Board of Directors should they experience any COVID-19 or cold / flu like symptoms following a visit to the club;
  10. If approached by a Reciprocal Visitor, please direct them to the Officer Of the Day (OOD) to complete registration and provide necessary information for contact tracing.
  11. This policy is enacted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and will be removed when no longer required. The current version of pandemic regulation can be found at https://www.ontario.ca/page/reopening-ontario .

Reciprocal Visitors Policy During COVID-19

BS&BC and the LaSalle Park Community Marina operate under A Safe Harbour Policy:
No vessel in distress will be denied temporary docking

  • In accordance with Stage 3 reopening guidelines (https://www.ontario.ca/page/reopening-ontario), BS&BC is pleased to accept visitors including pre-arranged groups from reciprocating clubs. 
  • It is the policy of BS&BC to accept visitors from reciprocal clubs that offer at least the same privileges to our members.  Proof of club membership must be shown.
  • All Health & Safety measures implemented in 2021 for Members and their guests apply to incoming visitors. In summary:
    • Immediate check-in with the Officer Of the Day (OOD) is required.
    • Face covering shall be worn when distance is temporarily not possible outdoor and in all indoor facilities, including washrooms;
    • When necessary please move to a finger dock to allow others to pass.
    • Clubhouse amenities are currently unavailable with the exception of the washrooms.  Please limit use of the washroom to one person at a time and assist in maintaining their cleanliness.
    • The BBQ dock is open however BBQs are not available.  Visitors are encouraged to prepare meals onboard or there are restaurants within walking distance.  Marine BBQs affixed to your vessel may be used.  BBQs must not be moved or placed on the dock.
  • Dock assignment and registration will be facilitated through the Officer Of the Day program normally accessible through VHF on Channel 68.
  • This policy is enacted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and will be removed when no longer required.
